Are you feeling tired all the time?
So many people suffer from exhaustion, its reached epidemic levels!
Now the tricky thing with exhaustion is that no two people are the same, so if you are reading this article, you might resonate with some underlying causes but not with others.
And, that is OK.
We don’t claim to be doctors, you and I are simply having a brainstorming session.
So here we go.
1. The first thing you need to look at is any medication you might be taking.
Some medications can cause fatigue and exhaustion as side effects.
It’s important to discuss these effects with your doctor and explore alternatives if necessary.
The Centre for Disease Control tells us the following.
- Over 50% of adults has a chronic disease.
- The average person is on 4 medications or more (not including supplements).
- Teens in college have a 25 to 30% rate of being on a chronic medication of ADHD or anxiety & depression.
- 1 in 4 children has a chronic illness.
- We are now seeing auto immune disease in the first year of life.
- One in 40 kids has autism.
2. Dehydration
Nearly everyone we see is chronically dehydrated!
Have at least 1liter of water per 30 kilo of bodyweight daily to stay fit and healthy.
3. Diet
The right diet varies from person to person.
High-carbohydrate diets can lead to energy spikes and crashes, while very low-carb diets may not be suitable for everyone.
Tailor your diet to your body’s needs and physiology.
4. Digestive Issues
Digestive problems can prevent the body from absorbing essential nutrients, leading to fatigue.
Identifying and addressing digestive issues is crucial for improving energy levels.

5. Fatty liver is now the leading cause of liver failure and people being on the liver transplant waiting list.
Fatty liver is mostly a self-inflicted condition, due to lifestyle and diet choice, and rarely from too much alcohol.
It can leave you chronically exhausted.
6. Oxygen Utilization
An overly alkaline blood pH can hinder oxygen delivery to tissues, leading to exhaustion.
This is often due to low stomach acid.
7. The burden of too much responsibility
People in their middle years are often looking after their elderly parents as well as young adult children, leaving them with nothing left in the Bank of Energy
8. Sleep Troubles
Inadequate sleep not only results in fatigue but also hampers the body’s ability to repair and regenerate itself.
The hours before midnight are the most important for quality sleep and repair.
9. Chronic Infections
Undiagnosed chronic infections, such as Candida overgrowth and yeast infections really drain your energy levels.
10. Thyroid Issues
Problems with thyroid hormone conversion due to iodine deficiency, often linked to liver function, can result in hypothyroidism and fatigue.
11. Autoimmune Issues
Autoimmune conditions can cause constant immune system activity, using up the body’s resources and leading to exhaustion.
12. Repressed trauma energy blocks in your nervous system.
In our opinion, unresolved trauma is at the heart of exhaustion, because it takes so much energy to suppress these issues in your tissues.
Pete and I specialize in helping you move from exhaustion to a place of feeling properly rested and energized.
We help you heal from the inside out.
While Pete’s passion is restoring metabolic health and cell health, mine is digging around in your subconscious mind to clear sabotages and blockages that are holding you back.
Life rewards Action, so act today to boost your health and wellbeing.
OK, now let me be your guide at the supermarket.
There are many pitfalls to avoid, and exhaustion is often caused by the contents of your supermarket trolley, so let’s start with:
- Tip Number 1:
Always stick to the outside aisles, where you will find real food like eggs, meat, full cream products like yogurt, butter, cream, cheese, vegetables and a few berries.
These foods are good for your liver, because your liver needs healthy fats to purify your blood and help burn your fat.
- Tip Number 2:
Don’t buy products that are processed or modified.
If they have more than two ingredients, they are usually modified to the extent that your liver can’t break them down easily for fuel.
- Tip Number 3:
Don’t buy anything low fat or zero fat, because these products are usually filled with artificial sweeteners and flavours.
They are incredibly harmful to your body.
- Tip Number 4:
Don’t drink Pepsi, soft drinks, or fruit juices.
It makes no difference to your liver if it’s unhealthy coke or organic grape juice for instance.
It contains sugars and fruit sugars that are going to clog up your liver with fat.
- Tip Number 5:
Don’t buy lean meat, buy full fat meats and eat the fat.
- Tip Number 6:
Buy protein and eat at least one gram of protein per kilo of bodyweight per day.
You need good quality protein for all your amino acids, which are the building blocks of the body.
- Tip Number 7:
You need fats and proteins to restore and rejuvenate your body.
You don’t need ANY carbohydrates. (This sounds a bit extreme, but the truth is that there are no ‘essential carbohydrates’ so you don’t need them for great health)
So avoid breads, pasta and grains, as well as biscuits and rice.
Carbohydrates immediately turn into sugar or glucose in your blood that spikes your insulin and anytime your insulin is high, you aren’t going to burn your fat!
- Tip Number 8:
Buy coconut oil, olive oil, macadamia nut oil, ghee or butter, and stay miles away from all the other toxic plant oils like Canola oil.
These are very toxic to your liver, immune system and hormones.
- Tip Number 9:
Buy healthy unrefined salt.
Salt gives you the minerals your body needs, and when you have a lick of healthy salt, your sugar cravings go away, and this will keep you out of the central aisles of the supermarket.
These sections are full of toxic processed foods and products.
- Tip Number 10:
Stop eating sugar, any kind of sugar.
Try intermittent fasting.
For example, you could wait for four hours after you wake up in the morning before you eat anything.
This will give your body a chance to spring-clean your cells and recharge your batteries.
It also boosts your stem cell production, which is great for your immune system.
