Four months ago, one of our mother ducks hatched ten ducklings.
They survived only because we caught them early and placed them in a pen, where they were fed, kept warm, protected, and cared for every day until they were strong enough to return to the dam.
Recently, the same mother duck hatched six more.
I watched them on their first morning in the big wide world, paddling happily on the water, tiny legs kicking, bodies perfectly designed for their environment, moving instinctively toward life.
For twenty-eight days, they had been folded inward, compressed into form, growing limbs they could not yet use, muscles they could not stretch, instincts they could only rehearse in the dark.
In the end, they must have felt so cramped and pressured inside their confines!
That first morning must have felt like paradise.
Warm air stroking their feathers, water to play and paddle in, and wide open spaces to explore.
Life felt like one big promise!
I watched from the edge of the dam with a heavy heart, because I knew what was coming.
Their happy squeaking carried across the water, and nearby, a crow sat in one tree and a hawk in another.
Life announces itself.
New growth draws attention.
For a moment, I hoped the older ducks would protect them.
That having once been rescued themselves, they would recognise vulnerability and step into guardianship.
My Hopium evaporated as I watched one of the older ducks swipe sharply at one of the newborn fluffballs.
Sadly, the next day, all six were gone.
What stayed with me was not just the loss, but the lesson underneath it, that care received does not automatically become care given.
Survival does not create leadership or responsibility.
When you begin to grow, succeed, think independently, or align more closely with your soul, the people around you do not automatically support it or cheer you on.
Positive change makes others uncomfortable.
Your positive action might highlight another person’s inertia.
Your independent thinking unsettles entire systems built on familiarity.
You may find that resistance often comes from those who share your history.
Loved ones, friends, colleagues.
People who may benefit from your growth in theory yet feel destabilised when the familiar version of you begins to change.
Remember that old story about a fisherman and his grandson standing on a jetty at dawn?
The boy asked why a bucket of crabs didn’t need a lid.
“If there were only one crab,” the grandfather said, “I’d need a lid. But when there are many, every time one tries to climb out, the others pull it back down. They will never escape.”
That is how most systems work.
When one person rises, discomfort spreads through the field.
The pullback rarely comes from cruelty.
It comes from an unconscious need to restore sameness.
Understanding this changes everything.
When growth is new, when insight has just cracked the shell, when success or self-belief is hatching for the first time, you are at your most vulnerable.
The first group of ducklings survived not because they were stronger, but because they were held.
They were placed in a pen, fed daily, kept warm and protected until their nervous systems and bodies were ready for the wider world.
This is what we humans need too.
You cannot hatch a new version of yourself in the same environment that once threatened you.
Watching videos alone or reading books in isolation may spark insight but deeply held trauma and ancestral patterns needs to unwind in the reverse of how it formed.
If it was shaped by relationships, it heals in relationships, held by a group of like-minded people offering safety, care, and attention.

This is why I created the Miracle Method 7 Day Immersion: a carefully held container where you are guided through multiple breakthroughs, the glass ceilings you may not even know you carry, and the limiting beliefs you may not even realize you hold, while being supported, nourished, and respected.
Here at Purple House, you are not left exposed.
You are held in a tight container of care and attunement.
Every detail is designed to support you from the inside out.
These are the conditions required for a new version of you to hatch safely.
If you are done relying on others to understand your path and ready to give your evolution the environment it actually needs, this is your invitation.
Come work with us at Purple House.
There are two spaces left for my Miracle Method Immersion in March.
Through one-on-one sessions or the Miracle Method Immersion, this is a space for you if you are serious about becoming the version of yourself you once only dreamed of.
You do not need permission to become version 2.0!
You need the right environment, where you are held, loved, seen and supported in your transformation.
We are here when you are ready.
