Today, I want to share some vital information that could transform your experience of perimenopause and menopause.
Women are twice as likely as men to have their health concerns dismissed by a GP and this becomes especially painful as we begin to navigate the choppy waters of menopause.
Menopause marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years, typically occurring between ages 45 and 55.
However, changes in your body can be detected as early as age forty, including feeling overwhelmed, triggered ‘for no reason’, forgetful, poor sleep, irregular periods and more.
The primary cause of menopause is the natural decline in estrogen and progesterone levels.
Genetics, medical interventions, and other factors can also play a role.
Common symptoms include:
- Hot flashes and night sweats.
- Irregular periods,
- Vaginal dryness,
- Sleep disturbances,
- Weight gain and slowed metabolism,
- Mood swings and memory problems,
- Decreased libido,
- Brain fog,
- Hair loss and thinning skin.
All this can make you feel extremely vulnerable and powerless, so now is the time to receive the real support you need!
At the Purple House Wellness Center, Pete and I aim to address the root causes of menopausal symptoms through holistic methods.
While everyone is unique, here are some key strategies we recommend:
- Hydration and Mineral Intake: Proper hydration is essential.
Drink one liter of water for every 30 kilograms of body weight daily and add a quarter teaspoon of pure Himalayan salt per liter.
For more information on the water we use in the clinic and in our home – send us a message or call Peter us on 03 6428 3007.
- Magnesium: This essential mineral helps with stress reduction and hormone regulation.
Start with 200-400 mg per day and adjust based on individual tolerance.
You will know you have had enough once you get diarrhoea, which means you have reached your bowels tolerance limit.
- Iodine: Crucial for thyroid function and hormonal balance.
Use molecular or colloidal iodine and start with 5 drops per day.
- Boron: Supports bone health and hormone balance.
Take a couple of pinches of boron in water each day.
- Liver Support: The liver plays a vital role in detoxifying the body and metabolizing hormones.
Use supplements like Beetflow and Omnizyme to improve liver function.
- Gut Health: Your gut is classified your first brain.
80% of the messages your brain receives come from your gut, so gut health is brain health.
It’s a known fact that your brain alters during menopause, and we can keep these changes to a minimum by supporting your healthy Microbiome with Immuno-Synbiotic, or Syntol or Spore Probiotics.

Your Microbiome also benefits greatly from eating fermented vegetables like kimchi and sauerkraut (buy the Love your Guts brand which uses organic locally grown products) and drink kefir or kombucha.
Last but not least, rub Anna’s Wild Yam cream on the reflex point for your reproductive system which is just below the ankle bone on the inside of your feet (in the hollow spot).
Alternatively, you can also rub it on your breast or on the inside of your arms.
Don’ t just do it once, do it every day for the next few years to support your healthy hormone balance.
Men also benefit greatly from Anna’s Wild Yam cream.
If you are a man reading this article and you have symptoms of low testosterone, e.g mood swings, lethargy, nothing excites you, and you have trouble sustaining an erection, you would benefit from rubbing Anna’s Wild Yam cream on your testes.
- As always, make sure you tackle worms and parasites.
Everyone has parasites today, and they release toxins in the body that affect your weakest link.
Don’ be a walking worm farm!
Brain fog is often caused by parasites and candida, so make sure you take the UVB and supplement with a powerful parasite killer like Para-Fight or Worming and Parasite Cleanse.
- Avoid Hormone Disruptors: Steer clear of toxic oils, personal care products with harmful chemicals, and plastic use.
- Balanced Diet: Focus on a low carb, high fat diet, and include fermented foods to support gut health.
Make sure you have at least 3 tablespoons of healthy fats per day e.g. meat fats, gutter, ghee, coconut oil, macadamia nut oil.
- Regular Exercise and Stress Management: Engage in moderate exercise and practice stress reduction techniques like meditation and deep breathing.
Regular Tune Up sessions at the Purple House.
