There are many struggles women face.

Key Points:

  • Women are twice as likely as men to say they have had health concerns dismissed by a GP.
  • Experts say it is evidence of a gender gap in medicine and that women’s health is not as well researched as men’s health.
  • Advocates have called for a deeper understanding of, and better education around women’s health, including for doctors.

Leah was in her early thirties when she went to the doctor for exhaustion, muscle pain, and irregular periods.

Her GP diagnosed her with polycystic ovary syndrome, but did not provide her with a treatment plan.

“Nothing was done about it,” she said.

“It was like ‘you have PCOS’ — that’s it.”

PCOS is a hormonal disorder that affects between 10% and 28% or 45% (the studies aren’t clear!) of women of reproductive age.

It causes a range of symptoms extreme pain, to infertility to insulin resistance.

For years, Leah was left to navigate a complex and debilitating illness on her own till she finally found help by coming to our facilities.

“It is literally the most frustrating thing,” she told us.

Then there was Carol, who came to our facilities with peri-menopausal symptoms of hot flushes, anxiety, exhaustion from not being able to sleep well as well as low libido.

Our standard protocol for women with PCOS and or women with menopausal issues is to be well hydrated, (1 liter of water per 30 kg of bodyweight daily) and to increase their mineral intake by adding Himalayan Salt to their food daily.

Nothing will work till you are properly hydrated.

  • Iodine is absolutely paramount! Iodine will help to normalize the entire hormonal system and reduces painful swelling, helps to shrink cysts, and keeps the tissues of the breast and reproductive system healthy.
  • Magnesium acts as a circuit breaker, and you need to take maximum amounts daily (you will know when you have had enough because you will get diarrhea). Adequate magnesium helps to reduce stress hormones and promotes the release of calming hormones.

With all feminine problems, the spotlight needs to be on the liver.

The liver has around 500 functions in the body which includes the breakdown of free-floating hormones, and other toxins.

  • Throw out hormone disruptors! (toxic toothpaste, deodorants, and shampoos, conditioners, etc). We sell organic toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and conditioner.
  • Don’t use toxic handwash, or wet wipes, as they are hormonal disruptors. Each time you do that, you deliver another blow to your liver.
  • Some of the worst hormone disruptors are plant oils or vegetable oils. You must avoid all canola and other cheap oils on the supermarket shelf. Eat coconut oil, olive oil, or butter and cream instead.
  • Stick to a low carb, high fat, non-inflammatory diet.
  • Look after your gut health as well. This is as important as your liver, so eat fermented foods every day, or purchase spore-probiotics, which is a new generation hardy probiotic to heal and seal your gut, which helps to keep your hormones balanced.
  • Last but not least, come in for regular sessions.

We specialize in getting to the root cause of your health problems, so you feel better straight away.

Here is a testimonial by Lorraine, one of our happy clients.

‘I am not one to take medications and I had tried a few methods to help my menopause with no success. A friend mentioned that she had heard The Purple House in Forth was meant to be good. As I needed to do something, I thought I would give them a try.

My first appointment was on the 17th of March and yes I was skeptical but went in with an open mind. I mentioned the way I was feeling and at the end of my consultation the suggestion was that I try a few things (wasn’t really sure how this was going to help; but I didn’t have anything to lose).

After the first week I felt amazing, not only has this hugely helped my menopause. Before I was continually heating my wheat pack thinking that my back was aching from sitting and posture but it was either my gall bladder or kidneys that were not functioning like they should have been. After the first week, my back stopped aching, I no longer feel bloated after eating, my sweet cravings have gone.

After seven weeks of taking natural minerals and trace minerals (not prescribed medication) I am starting to notice other changes, my skin doesn’t seem as dry and my nails are not brittle like they used to be. I wished I had gone to see Peter years ago! Lorraine
