Over many years of working with people, and many more years quietly observing life here on the land, I have come to understand something that at first seems very simple, yet the more I watch it, the more profound it becomes.
Energy follows laws.
Not complicated laws that need years of study, but quiet natural laws that reveal themselves if we slow down long enough to notice how life actually works.
When we live in harmony with these laws, something very interesting begins to happen.
Life becomes lighter, clearer, and strangely more spacious.
There is more joy, more creativity, and far less of that exhausted feeling that so many people carry today.
But when we ignore these laws, or perhaps never learn them in the first place, something else tends to happen.
We become tired and resentful, wondering where all our energy has gone.
Do you recognize that feeling?
Slowly, without noticing it, your life force begins to leak away in a hundred different directions.
So let me share with you Purple House Codes of Energy
There are seven of them.
They are simply observations about how life behaves when we are paying attention.
And once you see them clearly, it becomes very difficult to ignore them again.
Code of Energy 1 – Energy Flows Where Attention Goes
Where you place your attention, your life force quietly follows.
If your attention is constantly drawn into problems, drama, crisis, and endless fixing, then your energy will inevitably flow there as well.
Your nervous system becomes busy managing things that were perhaps never yours to manage in the first place.
But when your attention moves toward growth, creativity, healing, nourishment, happiness, and the things that genuinely bring life into the system, those things begin to expand in the most natural way.
Attention is not neutral.
It is one of the most powerful energetic currencies we have.
Code of Energy 2 – Contained Energy Is Powerful Energy
If you look at a river that flows within its banks you will see something extraordinary.
That river can carve valleys through rock and shape entire landscapes simply because its movement is contained.
But water that spills everywhere becomes something very different.
It becomes a swamp.
Human energy behaves in exactly the same way.
When our energy is contained within clear boundaries it becomes focused, creative, and surprisingly strong.
But when that energy leaks in every direction through rescuing, overgiving, fixing everyone else’s problems, and carrying emotional loads that were never ours to carry, the system eventually weakens.
A swamp is often stinky, dangerous and filled with crocodiles.
Containment makes a person safe and powerful.
Code of Energy 3 – Not Every Quack Requires a Response
If you have ever walked past our chook yard with a bucket you will know exactly what happens.
The ducks come running.
Quack quack quack.
They sound as if they have not eaten in days but the truth is, no duck in the world is as well fed as ours. Ducks are opportunists.
If there is even the smallest possibility of food arriving, they will ask again.
Life can look very similar.
People will ask for help, attention, your time and energy. .
Sometimes the need is genuine.
Other times it is simply the sound of quacking.
Generosity is a beautiful quality in a human being, but responding to every quack will drain even the strongest nervous system.
Wisdom lies in learning the difference.

Code of Energy 4 – Expectation Is Not Obligation
Some people do not quack at all.
Instead they stand quietly at the fence and look at you like Clover with her big cow eyes and long eyelashes.
You know the look.
Just a quiet expectation that you will somehow step in and fix whatever is happening.
For many people, particularly those who grew up learning to keep the peace or take care of everyone else, that silent expectation can trigger a surprising amount of guilt.
But one of the most liberating things a person can realise is that expectation does not automatically create obligation.
Healthy relationships grow from choice, not pressuring.
Not pressure.
Code of Energy 5 – Your Nervous System Is Sacred Territory
Your nervous system is the command centre of your entire life.
It governs your health, your creativity, your emotional balance, and your ability to think clearly when life becomes challenging.
When the nervous system is constantly pushed into stress through rescuing, over extending, and carrying emotional loads that belong to other people, everything else in life begins to wobble.
Protecting the stability of your nervous system is not selfish.
It is responsible.
Code of Energy 6 – Life Can Create What It Needs
The chooks here give us eggs almost every day, and inside each egg is a beautiful strong shell made of calcium.
What fascinates me about this is that the chicken does not carry great stores of calcium inside its body like a little gravel pit.
Yet somehow, day after day, it produces that shell.
Living systems have an extraordinary ability to transform and create what they need. Scientists call this nuclear transformation.
And perhaps human beings are not so different.
We often believe we must first receive enormous amounts of love before we are able to give love.
But sometimes love arises from something much deeper.
It arises from the simple miracle of life moving through us.
Code of Energy 7 – Every Garden Needs a Gardener
Life is very much like a garden.
Some plants need watering.
Some weeds need removing.
Some creatures need feeding.
But the garden cannot flourish if the gardener spends every waking moment chasing ducks and reacting to every disturbance.
At some point the gardener must step back, look at the whole system, and tend the garden with care and wisdom.
Your life is your garden.
And you are its gardener.
A Quiet Reminder
Energy is a life force.
It deserves care.
When we learn to direct that energy wisely, to contain it, and to offer it where it truly nourishes life, something very beautiful begins to happen.
Our health improves, relationships become clearer and our creativity returns.
And the garden of our life begins to flourish in ways we may not have thought possible.
