Have you ever felt like your stomach’s playing a game of roulette?

One day it’s smooth sailing…

The next it’s a rollercoaster of bloating, cramping, or a mad dash to the toilet.

If that sounds familiar, keep reading — because I’m about to demystify your digestion woes in a way even a five-year-old could understand.

Meet Your Digestive Superheroes

They’re like Batman and Robin, one starts the fire, the other clears the path.

When they’re in sync, your food becomes fuel, your cells hum with energy, and your body rebuilds itself with ease.

But when one (or both) stop doing their job, everything downstream collapses; energy, hormones, mood, even your immunity.

Let’s peek behind the scenes.

STEP 1 — Light the Fire

While you chew, your stomach begins cranking up its acid furnace.

Once the food drops in, hydrochloric acid (HCl) splashes into action, fiery, powerful, with a pH around 1-2  (as strong as car battery acid!).

That acid:

When that fire burns bright, digestion is effortless.

But when your stomach acid is too low (as it is for most adults past 35), food ferments instead of being digested, creating gas, bloating, and reflux.

Suppressing it with medication only makes the real problem worse, robbing your cells of vital nutrients.

Real-Life Story: “My Hair Was Falling Out…”

Susan came to our clinic feeling hopeless.

Her hair was thinning, her nails were brittle, and she felt exhausted.

Her doctor said it was “just age” and gave her iron tablets, but they made her constipated and worse.

When I tested her, we found she was producing almost no stomach acid.

Her body couldn’t extract minerals or protein, so it began to deplete its reserves.

We added Betaine HCL to rebuild her acid, Beetflow to support bile, Enzymes, and minerals.

Within three weeks, her digestion improved.

Within six, her nails shone.

By eight, her hair thickened and her energy returned.

She said, “I feel like my body is finally working with me, not against me.”

That’s the power of restoring digestion at the root.

STEP 2 — Unblock the Flow

Once your stomach finishes its fiery work, the food slurry moves to your small intestine, where the baton passes to your liver and gallbladder.

Your liver produces bile, a green-gold fluid that acts as detergent and detoxifier.

It flows through delicate pipes (bile ducts) and rests in your gallbladder, becoming thick and caustic (pH 9) like caustic soda.

When your stomach empties, your gallbladder squeezes bile into the intestine, neutralising the stomach acid and breaking down fats so your body can absorb vitamins A, D, E, K.

That fizzing meeting of acid and bile is pure magic, called the chemistry of life.

But if bile is stuck or sluggish, fats go undigested, toxins stay trapped, and energy plummets.

You might notice:

Your “drainage system” is blocked — but it can be freed.

Beetflow and gentle movement all help thin bile and get it flowing again.

STEP 3 — Spark the Enzymes

Your pancreas and intestines make enzymes, tiny scissors that cut food into microscopic nutrients.

Without them, food sits there.

Modern diets and stress deplete these enzymes, especially those needed to digest plants, called Cellulase.

Our bodies don’t produce this enzyme, so unless you eat your vegetables freshly picked or fermented, your body can’t digest them.

Even healthy eaters can feel bloated from undigested veggies.

A good enzyme supplement with every main meal can transform your digestion within days.

The Fine Balance

Stomach acid, bile, and enzymes form one orchestra.

Acid cues bile; bile triggers enzymes; enzymes feed your microbiome; your microbiome makes neurotransmitters that shape your mood.

So your digestion is your emotional health.

When you’re stressed, your body switches from “rest-and-digest” to “fight-or-flight.”

Blood leaves the gut, acid drops, bile thickens, and digestion stops.

That’s why deep breathing and gratitude before meals are biological necessities, not luxuries.

To keep your nervous system nourished and relaxed, take a daily dose of Magnesium.

The Hidden Connections

When digestion falters, other systems soon follow:

Fix digestion, and everything else begins to align.

How to Get the Spark Back

  1. Fuel the fire – support stomach acid with Proton Plus or Betaine HCl.
  2. Thin the bileBeetflow, bitters, lemon juice in water, away from meals
  3. Activate enzymes – add an enzyme capsule with meals. Omnizyme, Digestizyme
  4. Chew thoroughly and eat without screens or stress.
  5. Avoid drowning your meal – drink water 30 minutes before or 2 hours after.
  6. Watch your stool – colour tells the story (light = low bile; dark = healthy).
  7. Relax your body – a calm nervous system equals better digestion.

And now, for those of you who respond better to stories than scientific facts, here’s a little fairy tale from the Kingdom of Within — because sometimes, the body understands stories more deeply than science ever could.

The Tale of Luma and the Fire of Life

Once upon a time, in the Kingdom of Within, there lived a young woman named Luma.

Luma looked healthy enough on the outside, but inside her body, the villagers were in chaos.

The Kingdom’s fields of Energy lay barren, her River of Strength ran dry, and the townsfolk of Skin, Hair, and Nails were weak and tired.

Every day, Luma felt a storm in her belly, rumbling, bubbling, twisting.

Sometimes she couldn’t eat, and sometimes she ate but felt no joy.

She thought perhaps she’d been cursed.

One moonlit night, she met a wise old herbalist named Sage Peter, who lived in a cottage by the river.

He listened carefully and said, “Ah, child, the trouble lies not in what you eat, but in how your body transforms it into life. Your inner fire has gone out.”

He led her to the Temple of Digestion, a wondrous place guarded by two invisible protectors: Lady Acid and Sir Bile.

Lady Acid’s Forgotten Flame

Deep within the temple’s first chamber stood Lady Acid, a fierce but loving guardian with eyes that sparkled like molten gold.

She tended a great cauldron of fire, the Flame of Transformation.

“When my fire burns bright,” Lady Acid told Luma, “food turns to nourishment, strength, and beauty. But when I am ignored or doused with too much water and worry, I grow weak. Then the food ferments and turns to fog.”

Luma looked around and saw half-burnt crumbs, bubbles of gas, and shadows of undigested memories floating in the air.

“I didn’t know you needed tending,” Luma whispered.

Lady Acid smiled. “All I need is respect. Chew your meals slowly. Breathe before you eat. Feed me minerals and gratitude, not haste and fear.

And right now, I could do with some help from Betaine HCL to revive my Flames.

Sir Bile and the Stuck River

Next, Sage Peter guided her to the second chamber, where Sir Bile, the emerald knight, guarded a shimmering green river that once flowed freely through golden pipes.

But now, it had grown thick and sluggish, like syrup in winter.

“My river used to flow like song,” said Sir Bile.

“It washes away toxins, carries gold for your hormones, and shines your skin from within. But when you live on stress and worry, the river slows and the gold turns to sludge.”

“How do I help you?” asked Luma.

“Move. Stretch. Dance. Drink water away from meals, not during them. Eat a little bitterness every now and then. Give me Beetflow and Enzymes, they’re my keys. And remember, joy keeps me flowing.”

The Enzyme Spirits

In the third chamber, tiny glowing sprites zipped through the air, the Enzyme Folk.

They carried silver scissors, snipping food particles into microscopic pieces that the body could absorb.

But today they looked sleepy and under-fed.

“We can’t work when we’re tired,” they chirped.

“We need the music of Acid’s fire and the rhythm of Bile’s river to guide us.”

Luma laughed. “Then I shall wake the fire and free the river!”

For seven days, Luma practiced everything she had learned.

She took a sacred pause before each meal, placing a hand over her heart.

She chewed until her food became liquid.

She sipped lemon water between meals, not during.

She blessed her liver with Beetflow and gratitude, and she thanked her body out loud for its wisdom many times during the day.

And slowly, the Kingdom of Within began to change.

Lady Acid’s flame rekindled.

Sir Bile’s river shimmered with light.

The Enzyme Folk danced joyfully again, snipping and singing, turning food into life.

Soon the barren fields turned green.

Luma’s hair grew thick and shiny, her skin glowed, her energy returned, and her laughter echoed through the valley.

And from that day forward, whenever someone in the kingdom suffered from stomach storms or mysterious fatigue, they came to Luma’s little cottage.

There she told them the tale of Lady Acid, Sir Bile, and the Enzyme Folk, and the villagers learned that the greatest magic was already inside them.

Moral of the Story

When we honour our body’s chemistry with awareness, gratitude, and nourishment, digestion becomes alchemy.

The fire burns bright, the river flows free, and the body remembers its brilliance.
