Do you feel exhausted even after a full night’s sleep?
Do your moods swing for no reason?
Struggle to lose weight no matter what you do?
Feel cold all the time?
Or find yourself anxious, foggy, or flat?
Maybe your skin’s breaking out, your hair’s thinning, or your periods have become unpredictable.
Maybe you’ve been told “everything looks normal” — but you know your body isn’t.
You’re not imagining it.
And no, it’s not just “getting older” or “being a busy woman.”
It might be your thyroid.
And you deserve to understand what’s really going on.
Your Thyroid Does More Than You Think
The thyroid is a tiny butterfly-shaped gland at the base of your neck — but it affects every single cell in your body.
It regulates your energy, metabolism, hormones, moods, digestion, body temperature, and more.
When it’s under strain or not functioning well, your entire system can feel out of balance.
In the clinic, we work with women (and men) every week who are unknowingly battling an under-functioning thyroid.
They feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and disconnected from the vibrant, happy self they used to be.
You don’t have to feel that way anymore.
Start With the Basics: Hydration & Hormones
Before jumping to medications or complicated protocols, we always go back to the foundations.
And it starts with water.
Your body is made up of over 60% water, and every hormonal signal, detox process, and energy system depends on proper hydration — not just any water, but clean, mineral-rich water.
For every 30kg of body weight, aim for 1 litre of purified water, with ¼ tsp of Himalayan salt mixed in.
Why salt?
Because water alone can’t hydrate your cells without minerals.
Salt activates the hydration process and supports your adrenal and thyroid glands too.
Imagine a wilted pot plant in the sun — that’s your body after days of coffee, wine, soft drinks, and stress.
Now imagine how much better it would feel if it was finally watered and nourished.

Don’t Forget Iodine — Your Thyroid’s Best Friend
One of the most overlooked nutrients for thyroid health is iodine — a trace mineral your body cannot produce on its own, but one that’s absolutely essential.
Your thyroid needs iodine to produce thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) — the hormones that regulate everything from metabolism to mood.
Without enough iodine, your thyroid can’t function properly, even if everything else looks “fine” on paper.
Here’s the catch: iodine deficiency is becoming more common, especially in Australia and New Zealand.
Why?
- Our soils are iodine-depleted
- Processed food lacks iodine
- Chlorine, fluoride, and bromide (found in tap water, toothpaste, and baked goods) compete with iodine in your body
This means you might be low — even if you’re eating “well.”
Low iodine can lead to symptoms like:
- Cold hands and feet
- Brain fog
- Fatigue
- Weight gain
- Hormonal imbalances
- Fertility struggles
- Menstrual irregularities
Supplementing with molecular iodine can make a profound difference in how you feel — especially when combined with hydration and mineral support.
We can help assess your iodine needs during a session and guide you with safe, effective ways to bring your levels back into balance.

The Fats You Eat = The Hormones You Make
Hormones are made from fat.
And not all fats are created equal.
Since the 1950s, toxic vegetable oils (like canola, soy, sunflower, and margarine) have replaced traditional healthy fats in most homes — and we’re seeing the damage.
These bad fats:
- Block thyroid hormone production
- Increase inflammation
- Interfere with cholesterol balance
- Raise oestrogen levels
- Contribute to PCOS, PMS, endometriosis, and even hormone-driven cancers
What your body truly needs are stable, nourishing fats like:
- 🥥 Coconut oil
- 🧈 Butter
- 🥩 Meat fats from grass-fed animals
- 🍈 Olive oil
These help build strong cells, regulate hormones, and protect you from aging and inflammation.
What About Toxins? They’re Everywhere … But You Can Take Control
From makeup to cleaning products, cookware to water bottles — we’re surrounded by endocrine-disrupting chemicals.
These can throw your thyroid (and other hormones) completely off balance.
The worst offenders include:
- BPA (plastics)
- Pesticides
- Phthalates (fragrance chemicals)
- Teflon
- Flame retardants
- Heavy metals like lead, mercury, and arsenic
You can’t avoid everything, but you can reduce your exposure by:
- Choosing glass or stainless steel over plastic
- Using natural skincare and cleaning products
- Eating organic and grass-fed where possible
- Drinking clean, mineral-rich water
- Saying no to toxic cooking oils and processed foods
Healing While You Sleep
Did you know your liver and gallbladder do their deepest detox work between 11pm and 3am?
If you’re tossing and turning during these hours, it may be a sign your body is struggling to detox.
We often recommend:
- Beetflow — to support gentle liver and bile flow, lower blood pressure, and help you sleep
- Calm Nature — a gentle, natural blend to calm your nervous system and bring hormone balance
- Magnesium – acts like a circuit breaker to stop your nervous system from getting overloaded.
These are just a few of the supportive tools we use in-clinic to help you return to balance.
