Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing health challenges in the world today.

According to a 2023 global study published in The Lancet, more than 529 million people are currently living with diabetes, with over 95% of them diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

That’s 1 in 10 adults worldwide — and the number is still rising.

Closer to home in Australia, 1.7 million Australians live with diabetes, and approximately 300 new cases are diagnosed every day.

It’s a silent epidemic affecting almost every family.

Diabetes used to be a death sentence before the discovery of insulin in 1921.

That discovery was truly miraculous and has saved countless lives over the past 100 years.

But even so, I wouldn’t wish this disease on anyone.

I remember a dear family friend who lost her long battle with diabetes.

Over time, she needed kidney transplants, lost her vision and both legs, and eventually, her body rejected the transplants.

She died prematurely — and watching that decline was absolutely heartbreaking.

What Causes Type 2 Diabetes?

About 85–90% of all diabetes cases are type 2, which is rooted in insulin resistance.

This condition develops over time, often silently, and eventually leads to high blood sugar levels.

When blood sugar gets too high — over 10 mmol/L — the kidneys start spilling excess glucose into the urine.

That’s actually what diabetes mellitus means: “sweet urine”.

Can Type 2 Diabetes Be Reversed?

Yes, I believe it can.

I’ve witnessed many clients make a remarkable turnaround.

Your body is intelligent and designed to heal.

Every 12 months, you have a completely new body — all your cells regenerate.

When you give your body the right fuel and support, healing becomes not just possible but likely.

Your body can run on two types of fuel: carbohydrates or fats.

When you switch to burning fat for energy, insulin demand drops, giving your pancreas a much-needed rest and your cells a chance to become insulin-sensitive again.

Brian’s Comeback Story

Let me tell you about Brian.

He was a high-achieving solicitor in a high-stress job.

His body had been running on adrenaline and cortisol (stress hormones) for decades.

These hormones push glucose into the bloodstream, raising blood sugar and insulin levels.

On top of that, Brian was drinking 5 to 10 coffees a day to stay alert and was eating a starchy, carb-heavy diet.

By the time he came to see me, he was on the verge of full-blown type 2 diabetes and had already started medication.

He didn’t like feeling powerless over his own health and was determined to make changes.

At our clinic, Brian opted for a Full Health Audit (Biomedx) — and it pinpointed exactly where things were going off track.

The first step?

We tackled his passion for pastries, breads, pizzas, and potatoes — all foods that break down into sugar.

I told him: “One slice of bread equals 6 teaspoons of sugar in your bloodstream!”

His eyes widened.

“How come no one told me this before?” he asked, stunned.

I went on: “Your body can only safely handle around 4 teaspoons of sugar per day, yet the average Aussie consumes about 29 teaspoons — including hidden sugars in foods like bananas (9 teaspoons) or even one potato (9 teaspoons)!”

Fuel Your Body with Healthy Fats

I encouraged Brian to start enjoying low-carb, high-fat meals — paleo, keto, or LCHF recipes full of real, nourishing fats.

These meals are far more satisfying, reduce cravings, and can even lower your grocery bill.

I told him: “Make sure you use organic ingredients where possible. Conventionally grown foods are laced with pesticides and low in nutrients.”

Brian chuckled and said, “You’ve just made my life very difficult.”

And I replied, “Not as difficult as your kidneys have it living with diabetes!”

4 Weeks Later…

To be honest, I wasn’t sure Brian would stick with the plan.

But he did — and 4 weeks later, he came in, shook my hand, and thanked me for saving his life.

He’d also ditched his fear of cholesterol when I explained the cholesterol myth.

You don’t get high cholesterol from eggs or butter — you get it from sugar and excess carbohydrates.

Fats like coconut oil, meat fat, butter, and cream are actually good for your heart, brain, and hormones.

The Supplements That Helped Brian

Brian also supported his healing journey with three key supplements:

It Might Take Longer for You — And That’s OK

Not everyone gets results in 4 weeks.

It may take 4 months or a year.

The important thing is this: You can begin a comeback right now.

Each day, your cells can get stronger.

Your blood can get cleaner.

Your energy can rise.

Your body is a self-healing machine.

It just needs the right support.

If something doesn’t feel quite right, be like Brian and book a Full Health Audit.

You’ll leave with answers, a roadmap, and renewed confidence in your body’s healing power.
