Do you have a morning routine?

Every morning, Pete heads out to feed our animals as part of his morning routine.

It is his sacred time.

Just him, the cool Tasmanian air, the chooks, ducks, and our miniature Hereford cow Clover, and our miniature donkey Cedric waiting patiently in their usual spots.

I call it Peter’s animal whispering time.

Well, the other morning I joined him, and Clover was in a ‘pot stirring mood’.

She sauntered over and planted herself right in Cedric’s spot.

Cedric glared at her, ears flat, teeth showing.

The full donkey warning system on display.

Clover blinked her enormous innocent eyes, fluttered her long eyelashes, and did not move a single hoof.

So Cedric had to shuffle over to her spot.

And he was not happy about it.

You could feel it radiating off him.

Then, right on cue, our cheeky drake came waddling up the hill the way he does every morning, bold as brass, to help himself to the leftover grain in Cedric’s bowl.

Now here is the thing.

Cedric normally lets him.

Every morning, the drake marches over, eats the grain, and Cedric steps aside and tolerates it.

We have always wondered about that.

Pete thinks it is because donkeys have deep protective instincts.

They guard the flock and consider the smaller animals to be under their care.

So Cedric puts up with the drake the way a patient guardian puts up with a cheeky child.

But not this morning.

This morning Cedric was already out of sorts.

His spot had been stolen.

His dignity had taken a hit.

And when the drake waddled up as bold as ever, Cedric swung his hind leg and kicked him clean in the head.

THWACK.

We all froze.

The drake didn’t know what hit him.

He bolted up the hill, round and round in circles, too shocked to even quack, dipping his beak into the grass as if he was looking for insects, clearly trying to find his bearings and his dignity at the same time.

Pete and I looked at each other.

Clover blinked her innocent eyes.

I sent them all some healing energy, and by afternoon, the drake was none the worse for wear.

But it made me think about ‘being a scapegoat’.

The drake didn’t deserve the hit in the head.

Clover did.

The drake just showed up in the wrong place, at the wrong time, wearing the consequences of someone else’s mischief.

That is the classic Scapegoat Archetype.

Did you know that we humans can carry different soul contract archetypes?

I see it all the time at the Purple House.

The Scapegoat Archetype shows up as people who work harder than anyone else but are the last to be recognised.

People who somehow always end up holding the blame when something goes wrong, even when they had nothing to do with it.

People who absorb the mood, the frustration, the fallout of everyone around them, and wonder why life feels like such a relentless uphill climb.

Or the Burden Bearer, always the strong one, the one everyone leans on, the one who is never allowed to fall apart.

Maybe you are the Invisible One, working harder than anyone in the room and somehow still being overlooked.

Or the Peacemaker, shrinking yourself smaller and smaller just to keep everyone else comfortable.

Perhaps you are the Martyr, giving and giving until there is nothing left.

Or the Black Sheep, the one who never quite fitted no matter how hard you tried.

If success keeps slipping through your fingers no matter how capable you are, the Failure Archetype could be running in the background.

Let me illustrate this with a story about our client Jake.

Jake came to see me because he was exasperated with his life.

He was good at his job.

Better than good.

He consistently did more than his fair share, stayed late, solved problems, and covered for others.

But at every performance review, the praise landed on someone else.

When things went wrong, somehow Jake’s name was always in the conversation, even when he had nothing to do with it.

His colleagues liked him well enough but no one went to bat for him.

He was the one who got the extra work and the least thanks.

Sound familiar?

When Jake came to the Purple House, we did not start with his workplace.

We traced the energy all the way back through his ancestral line, and we found the original trauma in his mother’s father.

His grandfather had fought in World War Two and had come home a changed man, having lost a leg and carrying wounds far deeper than the physical.

That energy does not stay in one body.

It moves through the bloodline like an invisible instruction, whispering to each generation, ‘do not expect too much, take the hit and be grateful you are still standing’.

Jake had inherited that instruction.

We cleared the ancestral trauma energy, dissolved the Scapegoat contract at the root, and then things began to shift.

His manager pulled him aside to say how much the team valued him.

A colleague he had barely spoken to went out of his way to acknowledge Jake’s contribution in a meeting.

A financial opportunity appeared that had been stuck and going nowhere for over a year.

Jake did not change jobs and did not do a single thing differently at work.

The energy changed and the world responded.

If this email resonates with you, I want you to know this.

Soul contracts are not thoughts you can reframe or habits you can interrupt with enough willpower or mindset work.

They run deeper than the mind.

They are held in the body, the nervous system, in your ancestral field, sometimes across generations of people who never even knew they were carrying them.

And contracts can be dissolved.

At the Purple House, we offer a Diagnostic Session where we trace your struggle, whether it shows up in your health, relationships, finances, or sense of worth, back to its true cause.

Not the surface story.

Because when you clear it at the root, life stops feeling like something that is happening to you.
