“Have you ever thought about going toxin-free but didn’t know where to begin? Maybe you’re apprehensive about the time and cost involved, or perhaps learning which essential oils to use that will do the trick has been too hard?

Well, now is your chance. Fillipa will answer your questions and demonstrate some of her most popular recipes. You will see just how easy, fun and cost-effective it is to make your own household and personal care products that are 100% toxin-free! Don’t miss out!

Filipa from Happy Biome (owner and creator of Tasmanian-made natural Happy Biome Cleaning & Skincare products stocked at Alchemy Cafe) will show you some of her favourite recipes that she uses around the home and on her family. If you’ve been to Filipa’s DIY Toxin-Free workshops, don’t worry, she’ll be sharing new recipes with you that aren’t usually included in her workshops – there’s always lots of new things to learn.

We’ll be using 100% pure therapeutic-grade Young Living essential oils to make the products, as essential oils not only smell great and are toxic-free, but they also have strong anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties that can kill nasty bugs, germs, odours and mould. Therapeutic-grade essential oils also contain healing properties that can help with a range of skin conditions, from retarding wrinkles, to fighting acne, to soothing eczema. They are potent antioxidants, meaning they protect cells from free radicals, and thus slow down ageing (inside and out). Essential oils are also added for their wonderful aroma, and can help to uplift and ground emotions.

If you’re planning to come along, please bring along any cleaning and/or personal care products you’re currently using (the good and the bad…don’t worry, you won’t be judged!!). During the workshop, we’ll put our investigative caps on and analyse ingredients in your current products to see how ‘clean’ they really are. Filipa will share with you some handy resources to help you become more aware of what you’re exposing yourself and your family too, so you can be more informed to make better choices.”

If you can’t make Monday night, Filipa is holding a DIY Toxin-Free Makeup workshop on Friday 9 June, 7pm and a DIY Toxin-Free Cleaning workshop on Saturday 8 July, 4pm, both at her Happy Biome Studio in Don (26 Lapthorne Close, Don – entry via Jiloa Way).
